 📍Tour itinerary & main stops

Walk through the heart of Naples’ historic center, from wide squares to narrow alleys, following a route that mixes famous landmarks with everyday local life. The free walking tour starts at Piazza Dante and ends near Gesù Nuovo and San Domenico, right in the middle of the old town.

■Dante Square (Piazza Dante)
Your meeting point and the ideal place to begin the tour, framed by elegant 18th‑century buildings and the statue of the poet Dante Alighieri. Here your local guide will introduce Naples’ history and explain how the old town you are about to explore was shaped over the centuries.
■Alba Gate & Greek walls
Passing through Port’Alba, you step from the modern city into the historic center, close to the remains of the ancient Greek walls of Neapolis. This is where you start to see how old and new Naples sit side by side in the same streets.
■Via dei Tribunali (Tribunali Street)
One of the oldest streets in Naples, once part of the Roman grid and still one of the main arteries of the old town today. Lined with churches, shops and bakeries, it shows you the busy, lived‑in character that makes Naples so different from other Italian cities.
■Pulcinella statue
Here you meet Pulcinella, the famous mask of Naples, a symbol of the city’s humour and resilience. Your guide will tell you the story behind this character and local traditions like touching the statue’s nose for good luck.
■Bellini Square (Piazza Bellini)
A lively square loved by students and locals, where outdoor cafés overlook ancient ruins of the Greek walls just below street level. It is a perfect stop to see how different layers of Naples’ history are literally visible in one place.
■ “Corpo di Napoli” statue
In the heart of Spaccanapoli you find the “Body of Naples” statue, linked to old tales about the spirit and protection of the city. It is a chance to hear how myths and religion mix in everyday life here.
■Gesù Nuovo church & square
One of the most striking churches in Naples, with a dark stone façade covered in diamond‑shaped blocks that once belonged to a Renaissance palace. Inside and around the square, your guide reveals stories of nobles, saints and miracles that made this place a symbol of Neapolitan faith and art.
■ San Domenico & Gesù Nuovo squares (end of the tour)
The walk usually finishes between San Domenico Maggiore and Gesù Nuovo, elegant baroque squares surrounded by palaces, churches and cafés. From here you are perfectly placed to keep exploring on your own, visit nearby churches or sit down for your first pizza or espresso in Naples.
